You will still do a split routine where you train chest one day, back the next and legs the third day. But what is going to be different here is the element of cardio we are going to put into your routine.

What Type of Cardio to do With Amino Prime?

Basically you can do whatever you want when it comes to cardio as long as you are getting your heart rate up to at least 50-60% of your max. However there are a couple of concerns you need to be aware of when it comes to cardio.

First of all make sure it is as safe as possible and will not give you any injuries. It really sucks getting injuries from cardio, injuries that could hold you back from the gym.

Second choose a type of cardio that does not wear you out so you are not tired when you are going to lift weights.

I’m pretty conservative when it comes to cardio and I do what most professional bodybuilders do. They stick to the treadmill, bike or cross trainer that you can find in your gym. It is not only effective but also more convenient since you are there already. It is also far safer to do than for example jogging outside or doing cross fit.

The amount of cardio you should do pretty much depend on how much time you have available but you should be aiming to do at least 20 minutes 5 days a week in order to get some good  results. 30 minutes or even up to an hour a day is a better choice when it comes to burning fat, but yes I admit, it is boring.

Some professional bodybuilders do up to 10 hours a week in their pre-contest period, typically an hour in the morning and then again an hour again later during the day. Just to compare their results with the results you want.

30 Minutes After Your Workout is Fine when You take Amino Prime

However if you do 30 minutes right after your weight lifting routine you should be fine and will get some great results as long as you are putting some efforts into it.

In order to make the time go faster you can bring your Ipad or a book. It really helps a lot and make the time go faster. I always have a lot of reading to do and my hour of cardio 5 days a week is the perfect time for me to get the reading done. Just remember to get some protection for your Ipad so you don’t destroy it.

Interval or Regular Cardio

When you do your cardio there are several ways to do it. One very popular way is doing interval training where you typically do 2 minutes of high intensity training followed by a period of less intensity of around 1 to 2 minutes and then you repeat.

What method you choose is up to your personal preferences and what you feel you will get most out of. What works best for me is a regular cardio session where I go as fast as I can so I can barely speak during the session. I will really feel that my heart is working and I get a good sweat.

This approach always gives me some very good fat burning results when I want to burn of body fat.

The Workout for Weight Loss with Amino Prime

Chest, abs and biceps

Chest

Flat bench press 4 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Incline bench press 4 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Chest Fly 4 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Bent arm dumbbell pullower 4 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Biceps
Dumbbell curls 3 sets and 8 to 15 reps
Barbell curls 3 sets and 8 to 15 reps
Hammer curls 3 sets and 8 to 15 reps

Abs

Sit ups 3 sets and 10 – 25 reps
Leg raises 3 sets and 10 – 25 reps
Side crunches 3 sets and 10 – 25 reps
30 minutes of Cardio either a treadmill or cross trainer right after your weight workout.

Tuesday

Back, Triceps and Calves

Back

Pull downs 4 sets and 8 – 15 reps
Rows 4 sets and 8 to 15 reps
Reverse Grip Pull Downs 4 sets and 8 to 15 reps
Bent over rows 4 sets and 8 to 15 reps

Triceps

Rope Pull downs 3 sets and between 12 to 15 reps
Dips 3 sets and as many you can do with your own body weight
French press 3 sets and between 12 to 15 reps

Calves

Sitting calve raises 4 sets and between 15 – 25 reps
Standing calve raises 4 sets between 15 – 25 reps

30 minutes of Cardio either a treadmill or cross trainer right after your weight workout.

Wednesday

Legs and abs

Legs

Leg extensions 4 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Seated leg curls 4 sets between 8 to 15 reps
Leg presses 4 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Squats 4 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Stiffed legged dead lifts 4 sets and 8 to 15 reps

Abs

Sit ups 3 sets and between 10 to 25 reps
Rope crunches 3 sets and between 10 to 25 reps
Oblique twists 3 sets and between 10 to 25 reps

30 minutes of Cardio either a treadmill or cross trainer right after your weight workout.

Thursday

Shoulders

Lateral raise with dumbbells 3 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Dumbbell shoulder press 3 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Back fly 3 sets and between 8 to 15 reps
Shrugs 3 sets and between 10 to 15 reps

Why Cardio after the Weight Workout?

Basically you can decide to do your cardio routine before you are working out with weights or for that matter at an earlier time if you want to. But it is my experience that you will get a greater fat burn if you do your cardio right after your work out.

When you first arrive to the gym your energy levels are in top and you really want to spend as much energy as possible on the lifting weight part. A after a good workout you are a little tired and your glycogen levels in your muscles are low. This means that your body will be burning more body fat as fuel.

What about the Amount of Reps?

A lot of guys often increase the amount of reps they are doing in each set when they want to burn more body fat. You are much better off if you always wary the amount of reps you are doing instead in order to put some variety into your workout. New science* reveals that you will be able to build just as much muscle if you are doing 30% of 1 RM with a high rep amount compared to doing 80% of 1 RM with a low rep count. The exhaustion is the same and so will the calorie burn.
